As the dusk settles, Madhura’s heart is pounding against her chest. She walks around in the guest bedroom, unable to sit quietly. She is anxious about her husband’s reaction to see her back. She cannot be sure whether it would be pain, anger or disappointment that she would have to face in his eyes. She is confident of one thing though, he will not be happy to see her back.

As she continues to perambulate the room, she hears her daughter finishing up her homework with her grandmother helping her. She cannot help but feel another twinge of guilt run through her being. This was supposed to be her role as a mother, making sure that her daughter understands her lessons in class, helping her finish her homework for the next day and helping her prepare for her exams…

Just as she begins to lose herself in another guilt-filled reverie how things ought to have been, she hears the sound of a motorcycle nearing the house and it is almost as if her heart has pumped its way to her mouth in an attempt to flee the place…

How would her husband react?
