Ever since the disappearance of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH370, Richard had begun to sense that his love for flying was slowly, but surely, ebbing. Then there was the incident with the Air Asia flight.
Now, it was more than a year since that fateful flight trip on the 8th of March, 2014 and the world was yet to hear of any news on what happened to the Malaysian Airlines flight that had disappeared midway to Beijing.
Thinking of all this, made Richard fear a little bit more for his life. And that was when he started to frequent the Methodist church in his neighbourhood. Just believing that there was a higher being who was in control made him feel a little re-assured.
He started attending regular service in church when he was off-duty. And before every flight trip abroad, he would spend some time at the chapel alone before heading to the airport.
