Latha is your typical upper-middle-class girl, who never had to worry about not getting what she wanted. Now in her second year in college, she recently celebrated her twentieth birthday by hiring a houseboat for the day in the backwaters of Kerala. She is the youngest daughter of an industrialist in the city of Kochi (Kerala) and has two older brothers.
Thanks to her circumstances, she never has to worry about earning anything in her life. Everything has come to her laid on a silver platter. To the extent that she now expects nothing less in life. She has that general sense of entitlement all about her; it is in the way she struts around her college like she owns the place, the way she talks down to almost everyone in her life and just about everything about her.
